Indonesian man-made tools found to be one million years old
    Caribbean Herald
    Thursday 18th March, 2010

A scientific discovery has shown early humans were living on the Indonesian island of Flores many years before first thought.

Stone tools have been discovered on the island and dated back to one million years.

The scientists are begun speculating that the million year old human who lived on Flores may have evolved into the now famous hobbit of the island.

The archaeological site was discovered in the Soa Basin of Flores, which is in the central part of the island, back dating the known occupation of early humans on the island by at least 120,000 years.
